Brewery Packaging Technician – Alaska Pacific Beverage Company About the Role

This isn’t a desk job. This is boots‑on‑the‑floor, cans‑on‑the‑line, kegs‑on‑the‑dolly kind of work. As a Packaging Technician, you are the final checkpoint between great beer and a legendary guest experience. You’ll help ensure every can, keg, bottle, and growler that leaves our facility meets our quality standards. Every time.

You’ll support packaging operations, wash kegs, keep equipment humming, and help maintain a clean, safe, and organized production space. Some days you’ll be in the brewery. Other days you may support the brewpub or warehouse. Every day, you’ll be part of a team that takes pride in craftsmanship.

What You’ll Do
  • Operate canning and kegging lines according to brewery standards and procedures.
  • Wash, fill, and organize kegs like a pro.
  • Fill and label cans, bottles, and growlers accurately and efficiently.
  • Monitor quality to ensure consistency in every batch.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, tools, and equipment —
    CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN
    .
  • Perform basic maintenance and flag any equipment issues quickly.
  • Keep packaging and storage areas organized and safe.
  • Accurately complete production logs and documentation.
  • Transport products and materials to and from our off‑site warehouse when needed.
  • Cross‑train with other departments and support overall production goals.
  • Follow opening and closing procedures to ensure everything is stored and logged properly.
  • Maintain a positive, professional attitude with teammates, leadership, and guests.
What Makes You a Great Fit
  • You notice the small details — because quality matters.
  • You thrive in a team environment and communicate clearly.
  • You’re mechanically inclined or excited to learn.
  • You manage your time well in a fast‑paced production setting.
  • You show up dependable, proactive, and ready to work.
  • You’re passionate about craft brewing and local products.
The Environment

This is a production setting. It can be loud. It can be hot. Floors can be wet. There are cleaning chemicals and pressurized systems involved. Safety and sanitation are non‑negotiable. You may work in confined spaces or at heights, and you’ll need to stay aware and alert.

Physical Requirements

This is an active role. Expect standing, walking, bending, kneeling, lifting, and moving throughout your shift. You must be able to regularly lift and move 50 lbs., including full kegs. Repetitive movements and manual handling are part of the daily routine.

Schedule

Full‑time position with flexible availability required. Production schedules vary, so days, nights, weekends, and occasional on‑call shifts may be part of the job.

What You Bring

Required:

  • Open availability and flexibility.
  • Ability to multitask in a high‑energy production environment.
  • Strong communication skills and team mindset.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and safely lift 50 lbs.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and cleanliness.

Preferred (but not required):

  • Experience in a brewery, packaging, or manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with canning lines, kegging operations, or brewery equipment.
  • Forklift or warehouse logistics experience.
Work Authorization

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Benefits
  • Competitive hourly pay based on experience.
  • 401(k) with employer match after 1 year of service.
  • Health, dental, and vision benefits for eligible full‑time employees after 1 year.
  • Paid time off after 1 year of service.
  • Employee discounts on meals and in‑house products at all NHG locations.
  • Opportunities for cross‑training, professional growth, and advancement.
  • A collaborative, safety‑driven, craft‑focused team celebrating Alaska’s brewing culture.
