Assistant Kids Director Position Summary
The Assistant Director of Kids Discipleship supports the overall leadership, development, and execution of children’s discipleship programming. This role is focused on helping kids grow in their faith through engaging, age‑appropriate experiences while equipping and supporting volunteer leaders. The Assistant Director partners closely with the Kids Director to ensure excellence in weekly services, special events, and ministry operations.
Key Responsibilities Discipleship Programming & Sunday Operations- Assist in planning, organizing, and executing weekly kids’ discipleship environments.
- Prepare and update curriculum materials, including weekly huddle guides and teaching resources.
- Ensure classrooms are set up with engaging, age‑appropriate lessons and activities.
- Help create a consistent, fun, and spiritually impactful experience for every child.
- Support the recruitment, onboarding, and training of volunteer team members.
- Communicate weekly expectations, updates, and encouragement to volunteers.
- Foster a healthy, positive team culture by investing in and caring for team members.
- Assist in scheduling and ensuring all volunteer roles are filled for services and events.
- Help plan and execute special events and ministry initiatives.
- Coordinate childcare needs for church events, including working with paid childcare teams (such as Super Sitters).
- Ensure all event details, expectations, and logistics are clearly communicated.
- Maintain organized records of volunteers, schedules, and ministry communication.
- Assist in managing timelines, weekly preparation, and ministry workflows.
- Ensure all supplies and materials are prepared and ready for services and events.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children and families.
- Follow and enforce all safety policies and procedures.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Passion for kids discipleship and partnering with families.
- Ability to lead, develop, and support volunteer teams.
- Experience in ministry, childcare, education, or a related field preferred.
- Detail‑oriented with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
