Position title: Psychiatric Nursing Assistant 1/2/3

As a psychiatric nursing assistant, you will engage and monitor clients who present with acute and chronic mental health concerns. Duties include assisting and observing through evaluation, and participating in an admission process that includes searching, accurately documenting patient property, and safely securing these items. You are required to observe behavior and client participation in their recovery and document these observations in an electronic health record (EHR).

Other duties include assisting clients with activities of daily living and utilizing routine technical, diagnostic, and treatment skills.

Psychiatric Nursing Assistant 1
High school diploma or equivalent; and Eighteen years of age.

Psychiatric Nursing Assistant 2
Successful completion of a formal training plan as a Psychiatric Nursing Assistant 1 with the State of Alaska, or six months of relevant experience; substitutions apply as noted. Some positions may require background checks and tuberculosis testing. Some positions may require proof of being free from active pulmonary tuberculosis at time of hire.

Psychiatric Nursing Assistant 3
Successful completion of a formal training plan as a Psychiatric Nursing Assistant 2 with the State of Alaska, or one year of relevant experience; substitutions apply as noted. Some positions may require background checks and tuberculosis testing.
