RN - OR

• Work 12-hour shifts with variable start times: 6:45 AM-5:15 PM or 8:45 AM-7:15 PM depending on unit needs
• Guaranteed 40 hours per week (36 base hours plus 4 additional hours for break and lunch coverage)
• Weekend requirement:
  Saturday or Sunday every weekend
• Variable third shift coverage required every Saturday and Sunday
• On-call responsibilities required, working weekends based on unit needs
• Call requirements: 1-2 weekends (Friday after work through Monday morning) and 2-4 weekdays in a 3-month timeframe
• Float within scope to other campus locations as needed
• 2 years of OR experience required
• Robotic surgery experience is required
• Trauma experience required
• Required certifications: BCLS, ACLS
• Must be proficient with code response, fire safety, malignant hyperthermia, electrosurgical equipment, arthroscopes, and laparoscopes
• Handle 30-40 cases daily in 11 operating rooms
• Provide care for all age groups including neonates, pediatrics, and geriatrics
• Work with various surgical specialties including general, GYN, neuro, ophthalmology, ortho, plastics, podiatry, and expanding robotic program
• Participate in room turnover with 20-minute target time
• Navy scrubs required (OR scrubs provided by facility)
• Use Cerner charting system (EPIC preferred)
• Complete 36-hour orientation and annual competency modules via Health Stream
• Alaska nursing license required prior to start (compact accepted at submittal)
• Must live minimum 100 miles from facility

This 152-bed acute care hospital is a Magnet-designated facility that serves as a major medical center providing comprehensive healthcare services. The facility features 15 total operating rooms including 4 off-site outpatient ORs and 2 endoscopy rooms, with a hybrid IR room available. The organization handles  cases per month and maintains an expanding robotic surgery program across multiple specialties. The facility provides interpretation services and focuses on delivering high-quality patient care across all age groups from neonates to geriatrics.
