Travel Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

Job Title

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high‑risk Labor & Delivery position in Anchorage, Alaska. The role requires an active Alaska RN license and a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience.

• No on‑call requirements; every other weekend required
• No block scheduling available

• Work in the Labor & Delivery unit of a 407‑bed Magnet‑designated, Level II Trauma, acute care hospital
• High‑risk L&D unit featuring 10 OB Triage rooms, 10 LDR rooms, 3 OR suites, and 4 PACU rooms
• Manages an average of 7 daily deliveries with a census up to 14 patients
• Patient ratios: OB Triage/Testing 5–10 patients; L&D/Antepartum 7–14 patients
• Floating to similar units may be required; refusal may result in assignment termination
• Charting via Epic (experience required)
• Scrubs and free parking provided

• Active Alaska (AK) RN license required (pending license accepted during consideration)
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate & Advanced Fetal Monitoring, and NRP
• Minimum 2 years of L&D RN experience
• Epic EMR experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred; training available
• At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

• First‑time travelers are welcome
• Candidates must have a permanent address ≥ 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront; RTO is approved on an individual basis and may be denied after the offer
• Block scheduling is not available for this position

The pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined. The role includes premium medical, dental, vision, and life insurance starting day one, a generous 401(k) match, housing stipends, and 24/7 support.
