Job Title:
Registered Nurse - Operating Room (OR)
Location: Anchorage, AK
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift | 3x12-Hour Shifts
Weekly Gross Pay: Up to $2,800/week (Based on Experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join a dynamic perioperative team in a high-acuity surgical environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering safe, high-quality patient care throughout the surgical experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to surgical patients before, during, and after operative procedures.
- Prepare operating rooms with appropriate equipment, instruments, and supplies.
- Maintain sterile technique and ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Monitor patient status throughout procedures and respond promptly to changes in condition.
- Perform accurate documentation within the electronic medical record system.
- Support patient safety initiatives and quality improvement efforts.
- Assist with patient positioning, specimen handling, and perioperative assessments.
- Participate in unit-based training, education, and ongoing professional development.
- Float to comparable units as needed based on departmental staffing requirements.
Education
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (ADN or BSN).
- Active Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) License required at the time of submission.
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR)
- Minimum of two (2) years of recent Operating Room nursing experience.
- Previous travel nursing experience required.
- Experience with perioperative patient care and surgical procedures.
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred.
