Position Summary: The Infection Control Nurse oversees the Infection Control and Employee Health Programs at API, monitoring immunization status, tracking infections, identifying potential risk areas, maintaining accurate health records, providing education to staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, revising policies and procedures, and serving as an active member of the Environment of Care Team. The nurse collaborates with hospital leadership to counsel on infection prevention matters.

- Monitor immunization status and track infections.
- Identify areas of potential risk and provide education to staff.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and update policies and procedures.
- Serve as a member of the Environment of Care Team.
- Collaborate with hospital leadership to consult on infection prevention.
Located in Anchorage, API supports a mission‑driven team of dedicated mental health professionals in a collaborative setting. Minimum Qualifications- Registered Nurse license in the State of Alaska.
- Two years of professional RN experience, including at least one year as a full‑performance or journey‑level Psychiatric or Corrections Nurse.
- Knowledge and experience in infection control or related nursing specializations (e.g., Med‑Surg, Corrections, Public Health, Critical Care).
- Analytical Thinking/Problem Solving – uses a logical, systematic, sequential approach to address problems.
- Integrity/Honesty – behaves in an honest, fair and ethical manner.
- Oral and Written Communication – clearly presents information and listens effectively.
- Knowledge Management – shares information throughout the organization.
