Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process using technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members. To support new hires, the organization offers a $10,000 sign‑on bonus. The unit is a 26‑bed Level 1 Trauma Center, Accredited Chest Pain and Stroke Center, serving the Billings area and surrounding communities.

Details
  • Shift: Full time, 36 hours per week, night shift.
  • Department:
    Emergency Department.
  • Primary location:
    St. Vincent Regional Hospital.
  • Typical nurse‑to‑patient ratio: 4:1.
  • Required:

    Minimum one year licensed RN experience in an emergency department or high acuity setting.
Key Responsibilities
  • Reviews and monitors therapy and treatment plans.
  • Documents care in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
  • Uses resources as needed.
  • Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the organization and abides by service behavior standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Might be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications based on business need.
  • May be placed on call during a scheduled shift.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education (Required):
    Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Registered Nurse with an ASN/ADN degree must complete a BSN within four years from hire date unless possessing at least fifteen years of proven continuous RN experience in an acute care setting; failure to obtain the BSN may result in suspension or termination.
  • Certification (Required):
    Current RN license in the state of practice;
    Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS‑HCP) upon hire or within 60 days of hire;
    Advanced Life Support (ACLS/NRP/PALS) as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Previous experience as a Registered Nurse in a similar high‑acuity setting.
  • Certification as appropriate for unit or service.
Compensation and Benefits

Hourly rate: $38.37 – $52.25, dependent upon experience. Eligible for benefits covering medical, dental, vision, and additional wellness programs.
