We have a new need for a Registered Nurse
- Urology Clinic at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, AK
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients with urologic conditions.
- Obtain and document patient histories, vital signs, and genitourinary assessments.
- Triage patient concerns and symptoms via phone, patient portal, or in person.
- Identify urgent patient needs and communicate findings to the provider.
- Insert and remove urinary catheters (Foley and straight catheterization).
- Perform bladder scans to assess post-void residual volume.
- Assist physicians or advanced practice providers with in-office procedures such as cystoscopy and urodynamic studies.
- Administer bladder instillations and other intravesical treatments as ordered.
- Collect urine specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Provide wound care and postoperative support for urologic procedures.
- Administer medications and injections as prescribed, including antibiotics and hormone therapies (e.g., testosterone).
- Monitor patient responses to medications and treatments.
- Educate patients regarding medication use, potential side effects, and adherence.
- Educate patients on disease processes and treatment plans related to urologic conditions.
- Provide instruction on catheter care, intermittent self-catheterization, and postoperative care.
- Counsel patients on lifestyle modifications for kidney stone prevention and bladder health.
- Coordinate diagnostic tests, laboratory work, imaging studies, and referrals.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Facilitate follow-up appointments and ensure continuity of care.
- Accurately document patient care, procedures, and communications in the electronic health record.
- Maintain compliance with clinic policies, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure proper preparation and sterilization of equipment used in urologic procedures.
Monday
- Friday, 9 hours between 7:30am and 4:30pm, with a one-hour uncompensated lunch
No Weekends or Holidays
RequirementsMinimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Graduate from a college or university accredited by Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
- Experience: Minimum one 2-years of recent post-grad RN clinical Outpatient Clinic experience
- Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted RN license from any state.
- Life Support Certification: Maintain current AHA or ARC BLS Certification.
- Security: Must possess ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.

Pay Scale: $45.00 - $59.00 per hour, to be determined based on qualifications and experience
