A Cardiovascular Cath Lab RN opportunity is available in Anchorage, Alaska at a 250-plus-bed regional hospital that holds 5-star ratings for heart attack treatment, bowel obstruction treatment, and colorectal surgery. The three-room Cath Lab averages four to six procedures per day and supports a full range of cardiac, vascular, and interventional services.
The role.Working within a three-room Cath Lab, the Cardiovascular Cath Lab RN is responsible for circulating, monitoring, and managing sedation — including mixing sedation drips — across a broad procedural scope that includes cardiac catheterizations, coronary interventions, EP device and ablation therapies, structural heart procedures (LAAC, TAVR), endovascular procedures, interventional radiology, and neuro diagnostics and interventions. The nurse guides each patient through all phases of the procedure: transport, site preparation, sterile setup, intraoperative monitoring, hemostasis following catheter or sheath removal, and return to unit, including management of emergent cases.
Accurate, timely documentation and preparation of procedure records for physician interpretation are core responsibilities. Effective hand-off communication using the SBAR process is expected to support an interdisciplinary, collaborative care environment. Note that electrophysiology mapping is performed by a third‑party company, so no mapping experience is required.
