Opening: Cardiac Direct Access Clinic (CDAC) Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Anchorage, AK
Pay: $38-45/hr DOE
A respected and well-established healthcare organization in Anchorage is seeking a skilled and patient-focused Registered Nurse (RN) to join their Cardiac Direct Access Clinic (CDAC) team. This opportunity is ideal for an RN who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment, brings strong critical thinking skills, and is passionate about delivering timely, patient-centered cardiac care.
This role plays a key part in supporting urgent, non-emergent cardiology patients through rapid assessment, triage, treatment coordination, and patient education while working closely alongside Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with a high level of clinical judgment, autonomy, and teamwork while helping improve patient access to care and reduce unnecessary emergency department visits.
What You’ll Be Doing:- Triage patients using CDAC protocols while identifying red-flag symptoms and escalating concerns appropriately
- Perform clinical procedures including 12-lead EKGs, treadmill testing, IV access, and administration of IV and oral medications per provider orders
- Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate changes promptly with the provider team
- Coordinate diagnostic testing including labs, imaging, ECGs, and follow-up care
- Support same-day, follow-up, and urgent access visits while maintaining efficient patient flow
- Provide patient education, discharge instructions, and assist with call triage and referrals
- Serve as a patient advocate and primary point of contact throughout care coordination
- Collaborate closely with APPs and the clinical care team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Current Alaska RN License required
- Current CPR certification required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience preferred
- Previous cardiology, telemetry, ICU, or emergency department experience highly preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and patient care skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical setting while managing multiple priorities
