Description

With a workforce of over 100 in communities from Alaska’s YK Delta to Alaska’s Interior, we give the best air medical crews in the state – if not the country – the opportunity to support critical care patients during transports from rural Alaska to tertiary care centers across the state, major cities in the Lower 48, and internationally.

Position Description

Life Med Alaska’s Flight Nurses are responsible for planning, providing, evaluating, and documenting direct patient care for patients with complex needs outside the hospital setting. Flight Nurses provide care in fixed‑wing aircraft, ground ambulance, and hospital settings, always maintaining a safe, therapeutic, and organized environment and demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age‑appropriate care. All duties are performed in accordance with Life Med Alaska policies and protocols, using written treatment protocols approved by the Medical Director, online medical control guidelines, and sound clinical judgement.

Day

in the Life

Our Flight Nurses partner with talented Flight Paramedics to care for patients with a full range of critical conditions. Transport may take the crew to remote villages, larger cities and hospitals within Alaska, or facilities in the Lower 48. Patients count on our flight crews to be a calming presence and to provide the high‑quality healthcare we are known for.
