Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the department requirements and state practice standards. You will collaborate with medical providers and the care team to provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care. You will advocate for patients, families, and caregivers and embody the organization’s vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Assess the patient’s condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s) and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient’s medical record. Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response.
  • Respond promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipate patient needs, and resolve them.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
Qualifications
  • Current State of Alaska Registered Nurse License.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and certification.
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
  • Chemotherapy certification preferred.
