Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse
This is a 13-week contract position.
Night shift schedule: 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:30). This position is primarily a straight night shift role. In some cases, the schedule may flip to include day shifts every four weeks.
We are seeking a dedicated Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care for patients in a high-risk labor and delivery unit. You will be responsible for assisting in various procedures, conducting assessments, and managing care for mothers and newborns in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care to patients during labor and delivery, including assessments and interventions.
- Assistance with high-risk deliveries and cesarean sections.
- Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs, assess labor progress, and provide education to patients and families.
- Manage pain relief methods including epidurals and medications.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Perform necessary documentation in the electronic health record (Epic).
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:
- 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing preferred.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska required (pending licenses accepted with conditions).
- Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced, NRP. - Charge experience preferred or willingness to receive training.
