Medical H&P Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner
Hospital is seeking Medical H&P Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner - 7on/7off block schedule, 10-hour shift, full-time, benefits eligible.
- Initial medical admissions evaluations & H&Ps, follow ups, diagnostics and discharges for ages 5+.
- Conduct comprehensive medical assessments, including initial history and physicals (H&Ps) within 24 hours of admission, follow-ups, and discharge planning.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, and support staff to create integrated treatment plans addressing medical and mental health needs.
- Comanage patients with complex medical comorbidities alongside mental health providers.
- Educate patients and families on medical conditions, medications, and lifestyle adjustments to enhance overall health.
- Provide medical consultations and recommend diagnostic tests and treatments as needed.
Required:
Active Alaska Nurse Practitioner license, AANPCB Board Certification, minimum 1 year of post-training experience in an inpatient or acute care setting preferred (behavioral health experience a plus).

The largest private mental health system in Alaska. Our behavioral health system consists of an acute care hospital and residential treatment centers. We are committed to providing easy access to a comprehensive range of behavioral health services for patients ages 5 through 17. We provide a continuum of care that includes crisis evaluation and stabilization, as well as treatment for children with a mental illness.
The hospital has 37 double rooms (accommodating up to 74 children and teens) with 19 rooms for teens and 18 for preteens and children. We have classrooms, specialized activity and therapy areas, a gym with a climbing wall, cafeteria, indoor and outdoor activity and recreation areas, outdoor challenge course, and a solarium for family and group gatherings. Children share rooms in areas specially designated for their age, gender and therapy goals.
Our Adolescent wing has both male and female units. Although there are group rooms on both adolescent units, we offer some co-ed groups led by a leading Psychiatrist, based on individual treatment needs.
