Position Details

RN – IMU, Full‑time (Days). This IMU has 36 beds with a 1:3 nurse‑to‑patient ratio. A BSN is required because of Magnet status.

Preferred experience:

IMU or critical‑care nursing; 2+ years emergency‑room experience may be considered.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver safe and appropriate care to patients based on the nursing skills inventory, age, and needs of the patient or population served.
  • Coordinate the planning for the delivery of nursing care with an interdisciplinary team and administer appropriate clinical decisions.
  • Collaborate with, direct, and may delegate to the healthcare team to attain positive outcomes based on data, research, evidence, and professional standards of care.
  • Coordinate treatment plans; develop and implement discharge and/or transfer plans.
  • Participate in systemic, interdisciplinary, and ongoing evaluation of programs, process improvement, and client‑centered outcomes.
  • Consider the diverse needs of each patient throughout the continuum of care, ensuring the highest level of service according to established service standards and optimizing the patient experience.
  • Adhere to all regulatory and Texas Board of Nursing standards and to Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards, including time management, supply management, productivity, and quality of service.
  • Promote professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; support department‑based goals and may serve as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
  • Demonstrate commitment to caring for every member of the community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences.
  • Model Memorial Hermann’s service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized, and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing;
    Bachelor of Nursing preferred.
  • Licenses/Certifications:

    Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing;
    Certified in Basic Life Support. Additional certifications may be required based on discipline and/or unit requirements.
