Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN Case Manager for a travel contract at an acute care hospital in Alaska, requiring an active AK RN license and Epic proficiency.

Details
  • Acute care hospital setting in Anchorage, Alaska — a 407-bed Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma Center and USNWR Best Hospital in Alaska
  • Case Management/Utilization Review unit
  • Day shift, 5x8-hour schedule; shift start times range from 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM depending on unit need
  • Every other weekend required, or 4 weekend days within a 4-week schedule
  • Floating within the hospital and to nearby affiliate facilities is required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Charting system:
    Epic (required)
  • Scrubs are provided by the facility
  • Free parking available on-site
Requirements
  • Active Alaska (AK) RN license required — must be in hand at time of consideration
  • BLS certification required
  • ACM-RN certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of RN case management experience required
  • Acute care hospital experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Trauma Level II experience preferred
  • Community hospital and LTAC experience preferred
  • 2 supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting required for consideration
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • Hepatitis B vaccine required — titers and declination forms are not accepted
Additional Information
  • Responsibilities include care coordination, admission criteria review, continued stay reviews, determining medical necessity per evidence-based guidelines, needs assessment and DME ordering, plan of care development, prior authorizations, pre-cert review, and utilization of Inter Qual and Milliman guidelines
  • Familiarity with CMS, HIPAA, ICD-10 coding, and The Joint Commission/Core Measures/National Patient Safety Goals is beneficial
  • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
  • Former permanent staff of this Providence facility must have been separated for a minimum of 3 months before returning as a traveler
  • Travelers may work a maximum of 1 calendar year at this facility before being required to take at least a 6-month break prior to returning
  • RTO is limited to one request of 5 days or fewer per 13-week assignment; no holiday RTO for auto-offer positions
  • Travelers must be available to work 2 of 3 major holidays:
    Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Pre-assignment compliance modules are required and completed prior to start date
