Physician​/Hospitalist​/Hospitalist Position hour Shifts

A leading inpatient behavioral health hospital in Anchorage, Alaska, is seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join our multidisciplinary team. This role focuses on providing medical care for patients aged 5 years to geriatric, admitted for psychiatric and substance-use treatment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform initial medical assessments and H&Ps within 24 hours of admission
• Provide follow-up care, diagnostics, and discharge planning
• Manage medical needs for inpatient psychiatric patients (ages 5+)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create integrated treatment plans
• Co-manage patients with complex medical conditions
• Provide medical consultations and recommend diagnostics and treatment plans
• Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, and wellness strategies
• Deliver emergency care within scope as needed

Qualifications

• Active Alaska APRN license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• Graduate of an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program
• Board certification
• Prior inpatient or acute care experience preferred
• Behavioral health experience a plus
• New graduates encouraged to apply if clinically strong and interested in behavioral health
