American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical ICU night shift position requiring an active AK RN license and prior travel nursing experience.
Details- Work in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) of an acute care hospital
- 13-week assignment on night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Weekend shifts required
- No on-call responsibilities
- May float to like units within scope if needed
- Uses Epic charting system
- Active AK RN license required in hand for consideration
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required; TNCC preferred
- Minimum 2 years of MICU experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Experience with continuous IV sedation and IV insulin protocols required
- Copy of certifications required for consideration
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Facility is a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma acute care hospital recognized as a USNWR Best Hospital in Alaska
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Must be willing to work 2 of the following 3 major holidays:
Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's - May be required to float to affiliate hospitals near the primary facility
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
- Former Providence permanent staff must be separated for a minimum of 3 months before returning as a traveler
- Travelers are limited to a maximum of 1 calendar year in this assignment, followed by a required 6-month break before returning to the same facility
- Time off requests are approved individually upon offer and must be submitted with the initial application
- Facility only accepts Hepatitis B vaccination; titers or declinations are not accepted
- Free parking is available onsite
