American Traveler is hiring a PACU RN for a Magnet, Level II Trauma acute care hospital requiring an active AK RN license and on-call availability.
Requirements- Active AK RN license required in hand for auto offer; license pending applicants may be considered if application can be completed within 48 hours
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of PACU experience required
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Pedi PACU and Level II Trauma experience preferred
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Work in the PACU unit of a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma acute care hospital
- 13-week assignment with 3x12 day shifts, variable start times between and
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- On-call required, approximately 6 calls per 8-week period with a 30-minute response time to the hospital
- Weekend coverage required for on-call shifts
- May float to similar units within scope of practice and skillset to meet facility needs
- Uses Epic for charting
- Provide post-anesthesia care to a variety of surgical patients including bariatric, ENT, general, gyn, neuro, ophthalmology, orthopedic, and vascular cases
- Skills used may include cardiac monitoring, arterial line management, dysrhythmia recognition, central line care, and management of ventilated patients
- Experience with various anesthesia types supported including general, local, MAC, nerve blocks, and spinal anesthesia may be required
- Scrubs provided by facility

- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- All requested time off must be submitted upfront prior to offer; post-offer time off requests may not be accommodated
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and cannot reside within 50 miles of the facility
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate
- Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
