Job Description Travel Registered Nurse-Operating Room CIRCULATOR (Days)

Mobile Health Team Inc. is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse-Operating Room CIRCULATOR for a 13-week travel assignment i n Sitka, AK 99835 .

  • Full time. 4–10-hour shifts, Tuesday-Friday. On call required.
  • Start Date: 10/26/2026
  • Contract: 13 Weeks
  • Location: Sitka, AK 99835
  • Hourly Pay: $ 52.00
  • Non-taxed Stipend: $ 1246.00
  • Weekly Total Pay: $ 2806.00

This position is located within the Operating Room of South East Alaska Regional Health Consortium. We handle all types of elective and emergency cases performed, including abdominal, thoracic, Urology, ENT, Plastic, Orthopedics, Vascular and OB/GYN. Multi-tasks efficiently and ensures the surgical cases proceed throughout the day in a timely manner. Utilizes after-hour call services, to staff the Operating Rooms (OR), for nights, holidays and weekends.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Advocacy: Circulator nurses act as advocates for the patient. They verify the patient's identity, confirm the surgical site, and ensure the patient's consent is on record.
  • Maintaining a Sterile Environment: Maintaining a sterile environment in the OR is crucial to prevent infections. These nurses are responsible for ensuring the surgical team follows strict aseptic techniques and guidelines.
  • Instrument and Supply Management: They oversee the inventory of surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment needed for the procedure. Circulating nurses ensure that everything is readily available and in good condition.
  • Documentation: Accurate documentation is essential for patient records and legal purposes. Circulator nurses document the surgical process, the team involved, and any complications that may arise.
  • Communication: Effective communication is key in the operating room. Circulator nurses liaise between the surgical team, the patient, and the patient's family, keeping everyone informed about the surgery's progress.
  • Patient Safety: Ensuring the patient's safety during the procedure is their top priority. These nurses monitor vital signs, confirm the surgical site, and address any concerns promptly.
Compensation:
  • Weekly Pay (hourly) + Non-taxed Stipend (if eligible)

Requirements
  • Must have Circulator position and MUST have 3 yrs circulator experience
  • Experience in Critical Access Hospital and/or Rural Operating Rooms strongly preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (BSN or ADN);
    High school diploma or GED is required
  • A valid, current, full and unrestricted RN license in the State of Alaska is required
  • Current BLS ACLS PALS are required
  • Must have and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification during employment
  • Effective team skills including interaction, support, and respect are required.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Willingness to participate in continuing education and training programs
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills , professionalism, and reliability
  • Ability to learn and apply basic computer skills including locating and opening documents, completing forms, opening and sending e‑mail messages.
