Primary Care​/Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner

Overview

A behavioral health hospital in Anchorage, AK is seeking a Primary Care/Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner to join its inpatient care team. This role offers the opportunity to deliver holistic, patient-centered care to individuals with complex medical and mental health needs, working alongside a collaborative multidisciplinary team. Both full-time and part-time positions are available, on-site in Anchorage, AK.

• Conduct comprehensive medical assessments, including initial history and physicals (H&Ps) within 24 hours of admission
• Perform follow-up evaluations and coordinate discharge planning
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, and support staff to build integrated treatment plans addressing both medical and mental health needs
• Co-manage patients with complex medical comorbidities alongside mental health providers
• Educate patients and families on medical conditions, medications, and lifestyle adjustments
• Provide medical consults and recommend diagnostic tests and treatments as needed
• Deliver emergency care within licensure scope until specialized care is available

• Active Alaska NP/APRN license or ability to obtain licensure
• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• AANPCB Board Certification
• Minimum 1 year of post-training experience in an inpatient or acute care setting preferred
• Behavioral health experience is a plus
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with a patient-first approach
