Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager for a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma acute care hospital, requiring an active AK RN license and Epic experience.

Details
  • Acute care hospital setting within the Case Management/Utilization Review department
  • Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
  • Every other weekend or 4 weekend days within a 4-week schedule required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including between sister facilities
  • Uses Epic EMR system
  • Scrubs provided by facility
Requirements
  • Active AK RN license required in hand
  • Current BLS certification required; ACM-RN certification preferred
  • Minimum 1-2 years of RN case management experience required
  • Acute care experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Community hospital and LTAC experience preferred
  • Trauma Level II experience preferred
  • Experience with Admission Criteria, Care Coordination, Continued Stay Reviews, Discharge Planning, and Utilization Review processes
  • Familiarity with Inter Qual Criteria, Milliman Guidelines, CMS regulations, and HIPAA guidelines preferred
  • Experience with Appeals and Denials, Pre-Cert Review, Prior Authorizations, and Worker's Comp case management preferred
Additional Information
  • Responsibilities include determining medical necessity per evidence-based guidelines, coordinating discharge planning, and completing needs assessments for DME
  • Conduct continued stay reviews and develop comprehensive plans of care for patients
  • Works within a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma acute hospital recognized as a top hospital in Alaska
  • Free parking available on-site
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
  • Only one time-off request of 5 days or less permitted per 13-week assignment, with no holiday time off allowed
  • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside the 50-mile radius
  • Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years are required for consideration
