Schedule / Job TypeContract | 13 or 26 Weeks | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to Labor and Delivery patients in a high-risk OB unit, including LDR rooms, OB Triage, antepartum, OR suites, and PACU
- Manage and monitor high-risk antepartum patients, inductions, and third-trimester triage cases in a fast-paced environment with an average of up to 14 patients daily
- Participate in OB triage assessment and third-trimester fetal testing for an average of 4–5 patients per shift
- Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records
- Float to like OB units or affiliate hospitals as needed to meet facility staffing requirements
- Work every other weekend and be willing to cover 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
- Active Alaska RN license (pending license accepted for submission; license must be in hand prior to offer)
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience; first-time travelers accepted
- Hepatitis B vaccination required (titers and declinations not accepted)
- 2 references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required prior to start
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; locals are not accepted
- Charge RN experience preferred; facility is willing to train candidates with strong clinical backgrounds
- Experience with Epic electronic health records
- High-risk obstetrics or antepartum nursing background
- Work at a nationally recognized Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma facility rated among the best hospitals in Alaska, offering a dynamic and high-acuity clinical environment
