Schedule / Job TypeContract (13 or 26 Weeks) | Nights | 3x12 or 4x12 | 19:00–07:30 | Onsite
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to Labor & Delivery patients in a high-risk OB unit, including patients requiring induction and high-risk antepartum management
- Regularly serve in the Charge Nurse role, overseeing unit operations and staff coordination during the night shift
- Manage patient care across OB Triage, LDR rooms, OR suites, and PACU within a high-volume unit averaging up to 14 patients daily
- Float to like units within the facility or affiliate hospitals as needed to meet patient care demands
- Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records
- Work every other weekend and be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's)
- Active Alaska RN license required for auto-offer consideration; pending license submissions accepted (processing typically takes 10–12 weeks)
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery RN experience; first-time travelers accepted
- Hepatitis B vaccine required; titers and declinations are not accepted
- 2 references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required prior to start
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
- Prior Charge Nurse experience in a Labor & Delivery or OB setting strongly preferred; facility may train the right candidate
- Experience with high-risk obstetric populations, including antepartum and OB triage patients
- Proficiency with Epic charting system
- Opportunity to work at a nationally recognized Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma facility known as a top hospital in Alaska, offering a dynamic and high-acuity clinical environment
- Expected 60 hours per two-week period with scrubs provided and free on-site parking
