Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (Charge Nurse)

Anchorage, AK | Acute Care

Contract (13 or 26 Weeks) | Nights | 3x12 or 4x12 Hours (19:00–07:30) | Every Other Weekend Required | Contract

• Provide direct patient care in a high-risk Labor & Delivery unit, including LDR rooms, OB Triage, Antepartum, OR suites, and PACU
• Regularly serve in the Charge Nurse role, overseeing unit operations and supporting staff during assigned shifts
• Manage care for a high-volume unit averaging approximately 7 deliveries per day, with capacity for up to 14 patients including inductions and high-risk antepartum cases
• Support OB Triage, including third-trimester testing and triage patient influx
• Float to like units within the facility or affiliate hospitals as needed to meet patient care demands
• Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records

• Active Alaska RN license (pending license accepted for submission; license must be in hand for offer)
• Charge Nurse experience required; candidates willing to train in the charge role may also be considered
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, AWHONN Advanced, NRP
• Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience
• Willingness to work every other weekend and 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted

• Prior experience in a high-risk OB or Magnet-designated facility
• Familiarity with Epic charting system
• Experience managing high patient volumes including inductions and antepartum cases

• Opportunity to work at a nationally recognized Magnet facility and Level II Trauma Center, rated among the best hospitals in Alaska
• Expected 60 hours per two-week period, with scrubs provided and free on-site parking
