Temporary Research Technician for College of Arts and Sciences
College of Arts and Sciences offers a temporary research technician pool for sponsored projects. This position is part‑time and is not a direct offer of employment. The role involves data collection, entry, analysis, and occasional remote field work.
Responsibilities- Knowledge of data collection procedures, data entry procedures, and computerized spreadsheets and databases.
- Ability to manipulate data to produce charts and graphs to display trends.
- Interpret data results for reporting.
- Work in remote locations, sometimes in extreme conditions.
- Coordinate or lead the activities of others.
- Research Technician 1: High school graduation and 6 months of experience in a field relevant to research or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Research Technician 2: 1 year’s relevant college coursework and 1 year’s experience in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Research Technician 3: 2 years of relevant college coursework and 2 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Research Technician 4: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 4 years of experience, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
This position is located on the University of Alaska Anchorage campus in Anchorage, Alaska. It is a part‑time, non‑exempt temporary position. New hires will be placed on the Temporary Salary Table and the grade is determined based on education and experience. The position is part of the hiring pool and applications are reviewed as needed.
