Research Analyst 3 located in Anchorage, Alaska. Responsible for complex coding, estimation, and data summary procedures for the Statewide Harvest Survey (Alaska Sport Fishing Survey), an annual survey used to estimate total catch, harvest, and participation in sport fisheries.

• Development and maintenance of databases, spreadsheets, procedures, and SAS programs for coding, estimation, and summary reporting.
• Review returned survey forms or submitted data for fishing locations, effort, harvest, and catch, preparing surveys for data entry.
• Use specialized SAS programs to perform consistency checks on survey response data, researching and resolving errors and discrepancies.
• Calculate preliminary and final estimates (statistics) for the survey, including standard errors and confidence intervals.
• Coordinate review of preliminary estimates among regional biologists and edit data based on the review process.
• Work with Program Lead, biometricians, research analysts, and regional biologists to prepare the annual summary report and update the historical estimate database.
• Respond to ad‑hoc requests for summary estimates from regulatory bodies, other agencies, the legislature, universities, NGOs, and the public.
