The Lakefront Anchorage hotel (formerly the Millennium Hotel) is recruiting for a full-time Line Cook to join our team. Located on the shores of Lake Spenard, one mile from Anchorage International Airport and four miles from downtown Anchorage, the Lakefront Anchorage Hotel offers 248 rooms and three food and beverage outlets. The role is to prepare meals according to our recipes and standards, including prepping meal portions, cleaning food, cooking meals, and maintaining a sanitized work area.

The successful applicant will have experience in the food service industry and a commitment to impeccable food presentation and garnishing.

• Prepares all the food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
• Follows recipes, controls, portion, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant.
• Assumes 100% responsibility for the quality of the products that are served.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the manager.
• Follows proper plate presentation and garnish setup for all dishes.
• Tracks and reports any food waste.
• Properly handles, stores and rotates all products.
• Prepares dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
• Responsible for station setup, breakdown, and all advance prep work.
• Keeps stations clean and well stocked with menu ingredients.
• Keeps the kitchen clean and sanitized.
• Monitors and oversees food temperatures during hot and cold handling.
• Communicates with management about product deficiencies, equipment, and safety issues.

• At least one year of cooking experience, working as a team, in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Knowledge of kitchen cleanliness and equipment.
• Ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage multiple priorities in a demanding work environment.
• Ability to work independently.
• Must be able to lift at least 20-40 pounds regularly.
• Completes work in a timely manner; works quickly.
• Prepare food in accordance with guest requests and recipe standards.
• Patience, tact and diplomacy.
• Must have a valid food handler's card.
• Work as a productive team member by contributing positive energy.
• Perform duties in a safe manner and be professional in all interactions with associates.
