- Perform a variety of advanced food preparation tasks, ensuring each dish meets high standards of quality, taste, and presentation.
- Routinely prepare and process food items, from prepping ingredients to executing dishes during service.
- Monitor food preparation activities and oversee kitchen staff to maintain efficiency, consistency, and cleanliness.
- Ensure all food leaving the kitchen meets established standards for safety, flavor, and visual appeal.
- Organize and maintain your station and assist others as needed to keep the kitchen running smoothly.
- Support and guide junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
- Assist with inventory checks, prep lists, and restocking to ensure readiness for each shift.
- Bring reliability, dependability, and a positive attitude to a fast-paced, high-energy kitchen environment.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs./23kg.
- Have current or be able to obtain an Alaska Food Handlers Card or Serv Safe Certification. If needed the company will provide training for Serv Safe.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check.
- Minimum age of 18 years is required to reside in company housing, where available.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States. Holland America-Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-2B status).
- Ability to organize and prioritize work, maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while achieving daily goals.
- Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines including support and comply with company health and safety standards.
- Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for minimum of 8 hours per day.
