Customer Service/Sales role at The Home Depot

Position purpose and responsibilities describe providing fast, friendly service, assisting customers, learning product information, and applying safety and store standards in assigned departments.

• Provide fast, friendly service by actively seeking out customers, assessing their needs, and providing appropriate assistance.
• Learn about products using store tools and information to support selling an entire project.
• Greet, qualify, recommend, and close every customer in the department; handle basics in adjacent departments as needed.
• Maintain in-stock condition of assigned areas; ensure the area is clean, shop-able, and safe.
• Follow safety policies and standards, complete required safety training, promptly correct hazards or report unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty, and work safely to avoid endangering yourself, coworkers, vendors, or customers.
• Collaborate with the Department Supervisor and other department associates, as well as staff in other departments.
• Adhere to department possibilities and store configurations which may include Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, Tool Rental, and related roles.
