Job SummaryThe Retail plays a key role in delivering an exceptional guest experience through excellent customer service, attention to detail, and strong organization. This position supports the daily operations of the retail shop, including assisting guests, managing inventory, processing sales, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting the Corporate Merchandiser with shipping and special projects.

Key Responsibilities- Greet guests and provide outstanding customer service in the gift shop.
- Assist guests with product selection, sizing, and purchases.
- Process sales transactions accurately using POS systems (cash, credit, and returns).
- Maintain clean, organized, and visually appealing product displays.
- Prepare and package orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Assist with online and phone order fulfillment and shipping.
- Perform regular inventory counts and assist with re-orders.
- Work collaboratively with the Assistant Restaurant Manager to adjust product offerings based on guest feedback.
- Assist the Corporate Merchandiser with office projects, merchandising initiatives, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Help ensure loss prevention through attentive customer service and proper handling of merchandise.
- Uphold Northern Hospitality Group’s standards of professionalism, hospitality, and teamwork.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 1–2 years of retail or customer service experience preferred.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English (verbal and written).
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel & Word) and POS systems.
- Must hold a valid Alaska Food Handler Card and TAPS Card (or obtain within 30 days of hire).
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand or walk for full shifts (up to 8 hours).
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Knowledge of and passion for craft beer and Alaskan-made goods.
- Experience in visual merchandising or inventory management.

Work EnvironmentThis position operates in a restaurant and retail setting, with occasional office work. The environment may include loud noise levels, stairs, and uneven surfaces. Frequent handwashing is required, and some duties may involve working outdoors in variable weather conditions, including cold temperatures and slippery surfaces.
