Cashiers greet customers, answer questions, thank customers, and provide prompt and courteous service. This role includes ringing up customers, receiving payment for goods, monitoring merchandise passing through the register line, and maintaining the cleanliness of the area.

• Greet customers, answer questions, thank customers, and provide prompt and courteous service.
• Scan orders by moving items from the conveyor belt to the packaging area using the scanner; operate either from left or right depending on the register setup.
• Use a hand-held scanning gun or enter item numbers when necessary.
• Transfer or ensure transfer of each item as it is scanned.
• Monitor merchandise passing through the register line and promote accurate inventory.
• Request supervisor verification for high-ticket items.
• Assist with transferring merchandise in carts and packaging orders, following all safety and security procedures.
• Receive payment for goods, make change, and process checks, EBT, credit, and debit charges according to procedures.
• Count register at sign-on, prepare change, perform vault drops as needed, and count register at shift end to maintain accuracy.
• Perform related tasks, setup and closing duties for the department, such as restocking and cleaning the area, and retrieving carts.
• Fill propane tanks for customers and follow all safety guidelines for propane operations.

• A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
• Experience in cashiering and customer service is beneficial.

Work is performed in a store setting with ability to speak and receive phone communications. Requires computer usage, and physical activities including standing, walking, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
