Retail Assistant Store Manager

$16.50 to $19.50 per hour plus commission on transactions.

We offer an easily achievable commission structure that pays you for every transaction you process. Our retail sales associates can earn up to 8% on transactions, which could average an additional $6.34 per hour on top of your hourly rate.

Position Summary

Assistant Store Manager with a minimum of six months management/3rd key experience. Accountable for day‑to‑day operations, promotes a positive environment, leads and develops employees, recruits and retains talent, maximizes financial goals, and manages customer relations. Partners with the Store Manager to analyze financial statements, ensure asset protection, promote the business, and target new customer acquisitions. Works with a variety of merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms in FFL locations, and more.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate a customer‑centric environment by engaging customers and addressing issues promptly.
  • Monitor and assist in training Pawnbrokers to meet First Cash standards.
  • Recruit top talent via company‑prescribed channels.
  • Open/close the store, count cash drawers and merchandise, and ensure all procedures are followed.
  • Ensure asset protection through inventory control, property safety procedures, documentation, and securing customer loans.
  • Administer store processes: inventory, loan management, merchandising, presentation, systems, and reporting.
  • Evaluate financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal setting.
  • Ensure operating standards meet or exceed First Cash standards.
  • Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to maintain loan value and integrity.
  • Complete assigned tasks and training for self‑development.
  • Communicate clearly with employees to ensure understanding of the store’s mission and profit objectives.
  • Stay up‑to‑date on product knowledge.
  • Act as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Willing and able to perform duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Demonstrated supervisory ability.
  • Ability to work with firearms and become certified.
  • Able to assist customers outside the building or retrieve products from exterior storage and work in multiple locations.
  • Minimum age 18.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Flexible retail schedule; must work weekends and holidays.
  • Expected to work 40+ hours per week; hours not guaranteed.
  • Computer literate; operates POS and office machines.
  • Multi‑tasking in fast‑paced environment.
  • Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Cash handling experience required.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong work ethic and business sense.

Commission Plan Information

The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary. Assistant Store Managers have potential to earn 2‑8% commission based on gross profit of personal performance. Details are provided during the interview.
