The Wildbirch Hotel is expanding its sales team. This position will focus on generating new business opportunities, developing client relationships, and maximizing room, meeting, event, and food & beverage revenue.
Working closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing, the Sales Manager will actively prospect, solicit, and secure business while representing The Wildbirch Hotel within the Anchorage community and broader travel industry. The hotel offers boutique accommodations, meeting and event space, dining outlets, and hospitality experiences that support a variety of market segments.
Business Development (Essential Duties and Responsibilities)- Identify, solicit, and secure new corporate, group, association, government, and leisure business opportunities.
- Develop and execute sales action plans to achieve revenue goals.
- Conduct sales calls, site inspections, networking events, and client presentations.
- Build and maintain relationships with key decision‑makers, travel professionals, and community partners.
- Generate qualified leads and convert opportunities into booked business.
- Manage a portfolio of existing and new client accounts.
- Maintain regular communication with clients to identify future business opportunities.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing within established guidelines.
- Ensure seamless handoff of booked business to operations teams.
- Maintain accurate account information and activity records in CRM systems.
- Achieve individual sales goals and contribute to overall hotel revenue objectives.
- Promote guest rooms, meeting space, catering services, restaurant offerings, and hotel packages.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer demand.
- Work closely with Revenue Management to maximize occupancy and rate opportunities.
- Prepare proposals, contracts, and correspondence in a timely manner.
- Update sales forecasts and pipeline reports.
- Maintain accurate documentation within sales systems.
- Participate in weekly sales meetings and strategy sessions.
- Support annual budgeting and business planning efforts.
- Represent The Wildbirch Hotel at industry events, trade shows, chamber functions, and networking opportunities.
- Strengthen the hotel's visibility and reputation within the Anchorage business community.
- Develop partnerships that drive hotel awareness and revenue growth.
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2–5 years of hotel sales, hospitality sales, business development, or related experience.
- Experience selling group rooms, meetings, events, or corporate travel preferred.
- Knowledge of hotel operations and hospitality industry practices.
- Experience using CRM, sales, and property management systems preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally for sales activities.
- Strong prospecting and business development skills.
- Excellent negotiation and closing abilities.
- Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills.

- Ability to travel locally for client meetings and events.
- Ability to lift and carry promotional materials up to 25 pounds as needed.
- Professional office environment within a hotel setting.
- Frequent interaction with guests, clients, and community partners.
- Occasional evening and weekend work for networking events, site tours, trade shows, and client functions.
