This position is located in Anchorage, AK.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Conduct routine checks of various locations during assigned rounds, with flexibility to adjust schedules for unusual conditions and documenting any deviations.
- Perform guard duties including testing, monitoring, and responding to fire alarms, electronic security systems, and participating in emergency evacuation plans.
- Promptly notify the Security Operations Center, and if necessary, emergency services, in case of emergencies or incidents affecting Government interests.
- Report equipment malfunctions and potential fire hazards promptly.
- Follow established procedures for handling lost and found articles, attempting to return property to rightful owners.
- Participate in quarterly emergency exercises to test responsiveness and knowledge of emergency procedures, with documentation and review.
- Issue identification cards/badges and manage visitor center operations.
- Assist with traffic operations and conduct rover foot patrols, responding to alarms and incidents, providing assistance as needed.
- Assist in scheduling of officers in day‑to‑day operations, training events, and extra coverage as needed.
- Review incident and daily reports for accuracies, inconsistencies, and readability.
- Conduct hiring of new officers, payroll, and creating policies to better fulfill the mission and duties required.
- Education:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. - Experience:
2 years security experience; 2 years supervisory experience. - At least 21 years old.
- U.S. citizen.
- No revoked or denied private investigator or security guard license in any state.
- No court declaration of incompetence due to mental defect or illness.
- No history of narcotics addiction, dependence, or habitual drunkenness.
- No misdemeanor under the “Lautenberg Amendment” (18 U.S.C. 922(g)(9)).
- No felony convictions in any state or territory.
- No bankruptcy filings or documented financial distress in the past 48 months.
- No convictions of the following crimes:
- Illegally using, carrying or possessing a pistol or other dangerous weapon.
- Making or possessing burglars’ instruments.
- Buying or receiving stolen property.
- Entering a building unlawfully.
- Aiding an inmate’s escape from prison.
- Distributing illicit drugs.
- Any misdemeanor involving moral turpitude or dishonesty of character.
- No engagement in private investigation or security guard business without a license.
- No transfer or subcontracting of security guard or firearms license to an unlicensed person.
- No employment of individuals for security business who violate prohibitions or requirements of law.
- No false representation as a law enforcement official or licensed investigator or guard.
- No false reports related to employment matters.
- No disclosure of client information without permission.
- No acceptance of employment to obtain information for illegal purposes.
- No authorization or encouragement of the above activities.
- Must hold a Position of Trust.
- Pre‑assignment evaluations of each security officer will assess suitability, including background check, education verification, residence history, military service, criminal record, citizenship, drug testing, credit report, driver’s license, literacy, and knowledge of access control and video monitoring systems.

- Prospective employees must have a valid Alaska Guard Card license.
