Overview

The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Anchorage International Airport, is looking for a Maintenance Specialist - Electrician - Journey 2/Lead to help us Keep Alaska Moving.

What you will be doing

With minimal supervision, you will professionally maintain the electrical systems associated with Anchorage International Airport (ANC). Duties include airfield lighting systems, exterior building lighting, street lighting, lift stations, pilot-controlled gates, and other electrical controls. The airport environment is dynamic, offering both excitement and challenges for electricians. The combination of advanced systems and changing conditions demands a high level of skill.

Responsibilities also include maintenance and repair of all electrical systems across the airfield and complex, regardless of weather conditions. Effective communication on company and air-to-ground radios is essential. Additional tasks involve equipment cleaning and maintenance, fixture rebuilding, construction project locates, testing backup generators, and airfield lighting inspections. As part of the AFM crew, you will inspect and repair lighting systems in various conditions, including replacing light fixtures during snow events, repairs by boat on the lake, or training for emergencies.
