Electrical Apprentice – O&M North Slope Construction

JOBSUMMARY
The Electrical Apprentice is responsible for assisting the Journeyman Electricians with a wide range of duties. Candidates must be currently enrolled in the Electrical Apprenticeship Program with ABC.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES- Assist in the following:
Install, repair, and maintain breaker boxes, electrical outlets, light switches, lighting fixtures, electrical wiring, fuses, and other components of electrical systems. - Operate electrical equipment and tools such as hydraulic benders, knockout punch sets, cable pullers, volt meters, and tester.
- Maintain accurate inventory of electrical parts, equipment, and related manuals.
- Other duties will be assigned to this position as needed.
- Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
- Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
- A valid (U.S issued) Driver’s License is required.
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- The ability to work 80.5 – 84 hours a week on a 2x2, 3x3, or 4x2 rotation is required.
- Completion of the Electrical Apprenticeship Program with ABC or current enrollment in the Electrical Apprenticeship Program with ABC is required. (Enrollment and hours will be verified)
- A current North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification is required or must be able to obtain an NSTC card upon hire.
- A current State of Alaska Electrical Trainee Card is required or must be able to obtain a State of Alaska Electrical Trainee Card upon hire.
· Two (2) years’ experience working in a construction or industrial setting, the Oil and Gas or Petrochemical industry, on the North Slope, and/or in an Arctic environment is preferred.
