Carpenter Lead –

Location:

Anchorage, Alaska – Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. Type:
Non-Exempt.

Work Schedule:

Full-Time, Day Shift. Compensation: $50.73 per hour.

Benefits are described for eligible employees. This position is contingent upon contract award, with an anticipated start date of August 25, 2026.

Responsibilities
  • Delegate tasks and provide clear guidance to the Structures team, ensuring all work is accomplished safely and in compliance with industry standards and contractual requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise with the Site Manager for in-house or subcontract work.
  • Communicate with the customer, inform of unexpected or additional repairs, and determine customer needs.
  • Assign, coordinate, and track technicians' work, review work orders, monitor safety, and document completed assignments.
  • Review completed work for quality, completeness, and customer satisfaction.
  • Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and repair buildings, structures, and related property.
  • Ensure carpentry work aligns with the construction and appearance of the existing facility, unless directed otherwise.
  • Maintenance, repair, and alteration of buildings and structures include foundations, walls, doors, windows, roofing, floors, trim, stairs, painting, glazing, and related features.
  • Maintain cable trolley systems, obstacle course apparatuses, and playground equipment.
  • Layout, install, replace, repair, and remove interior and exterior walls, floors, roofs, stairs, and related elements.
  • Maintain finishes, trim, and decor to match or exceed existing appearance; plan carpentry to resist environmental factors.
  • Assemble and secure furniture and fixtures as needed.
  • Assist Quality Control and Safety departments with training and inspections as needed.
  • Utilize maintenance and inspection systems to maintain service records and submit documents daily.
  • Ensure installations, repairs, and maintenance meet environmental protection requirements.
  • Operate hand and power tools used in duties; maintain and service equipment.
  • Maintain professionalism in appearance and demeanor; operate company vehicles and equipment as required; wear PPE as required.
  • Conduct mold and asbestos testing and abatement as required.
Qualifications
  • Four (4) years of carpentry or construction experience preferred.
  • Journeyman carpenter license preferred.
  • Ability to work in varied environments, read schematics and blueprints, and work outside normal hours including evenings and weekends if needed for outages.
Physical Requirements

Employees must be able to perform the following physical demands for extended periods with or without assistance. Reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities to perform essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

  • Lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
  • Reach, kneel, walk, stand, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.
  • Climb in and out of vehicles, and ascend/descend stairs as part of duties.
  • Work under pressure for extended periods as required.
Requirements
  • A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain Tessera’s insurance coverage.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
