Heavy Equipment Operator
QAP is one of the companies within Colaska Inc., the Colas USA subsidiary that operates throughout the state of Alaska. Headquartered in Anchorage, QAP constructs roads, airports, and major infrastructure projects. QAP also has a team that specializes in logistics and self-sufficiency that is designed to complete projects in remote areas of Alaska.
The Heavy Equipment Operator manages the safe and efficient operation of multiple pieces of construction equipment. They are proficient in the use of a diverse range of equipment, including excavators, loaders, dozers, rollers, graders, skid steers, and others as required. This is a Union position.
Education & Requirements- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of one year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current member of applicable Union.
- MSHA Certification.
- OSHA 10 hr Certification.
- CPR/First Aid Certification desired.
- Pass pre-employment/random drug screening and a PAT (physical abilities test).
- May occasionally exert force of 20-50 pounds, 10-25 pounds frequently, or 10 pounds constantly.
