Electrician Lead

Location: Anchorage, Alaska – Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson

Type: Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Full-Time, Day Shift

Compensation: $59.85 per hour

Start Date: August 25, 2026, contingent upon contract award.

Typical Duties
  • Delegate tasks and provide guidance to the Structures team to ensure safe completion and compliance with industry standards and contractual requirements.
  • Inspect, operate, and test industrial lighting equipment to diagnose electrical and mechanical malfunctions.
  • Replace lamps, ballasts, and clean lighting fixtures; perform miscellaneous re-lamping repairs.
  • Replace receptacles, switches, and other connections.
  • Inspect, install, and maintain grounding and lightning protection systems.
  • Perform minor electrical installations and repairs (outlet repair/replacement, circuit breakers, sensors, ground fault interruptions, etc.).
  • Perform routine electrical maintenance to ensure lighting systems operate efficiently in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Plan and layout repair work using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematic diagrams.
  • Maintain and operate lift equipment required to service lights.
  • Drive up to a 1‑ton pickup or bucket truck with trailer; work from heights, ladders, and man lifts.
  • Identify wire colors and conduct electrical work safely.
  • Inspire, motivate, and guide team members to reach work goals.
  • Assist Quality Control and Safety departments in training and inspections as needed.
  • Utilize mobile maintenance and inspection devices to record all service and repair activities.
  • Wear PPE as required; be proficient with NFPA 70 and 70E; comply with ANSI C2.
  • Use digital inspection tools such as infrared thermal imaging.
Qualifications
  • Five (5) years of commercial electrician experience.
  • State of Alaska journeyman electrical license.
  • State of Alaska electrical administrator license.
  • Alaska certificate of fitness.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification (preferred).
  • Ability to work in diverse environments, inclement weather, and from manlifts.
  • Availability to work outside normal hours, including after hours and weekends, for unplanned outages.
Physical Requirements
  • Lifting or moving up to 70 pounds, and performing repetitive motion, reaching, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods.
  • Climbing in and out of vehicles, navigating stairs, and carrying out tasks that require endurance under pressure.
Requirements
  • Valid state driver’s license; ability to obtain and maintain coverage via Tessera insurance.
  • REAL ‑compliant driver’s license, U.S. passport, or military  federal installation access.
  • Obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access; background check and E‑Verify will be conducted.
