Service Technicians - $47.31/hr - Anchorage, AK
ENSTAR is seeking Service Technicians to join their Anchorage team, where they play a vital role in ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of natural gas to Alaskans. This position involves a variety of hands-on tasks, from investigating gas leaks to installing and repairing gas meters and appliances. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and committed to providing excellent customer service in all weather conditions.

- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Three years’ service/plumbing experience
- State of Alaska limited Plumbers or Gas Fitters License and Municipality of Anchorage Plumbers or Gas fitters card, or ability to obtain
- High mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work standby, rotating shifts, extended hours, weekends, and holidays
- Pass initial and continuous federally required Operator Qualifications training and tests
- Reside within 60 minutes driving time from ENSTAR facility and 30 minutes when on standby
- Valid Alaska driver’s license and ability to operate a company vehicle
- Pass background, driving, employment history, and drug screen
- Ability to interpret and apply Uniform Plumbing and Mechanical Codes
- Basic knowledge of gas appliance installation and natural gas piping/heating systems
- Ability to learn and understand ENSTAR’s SOPs and Best Practices
- Self-directed, self-motivated, and able to work independently
- Ability to perform emergency response functions
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency with portable electronic devices for work orders and data management
- Ability to interpret/enforce codes related to setting meters
- Ability to read/interpret as-builts/maps and code books
- Experience operating leak investigation equipment
- Ability to write legibly and complete detailed paperwork accurately
