Education and Experience Required :- High school Diplomaorequivalent
- Fiber Splicer Cert ,preferred
- Atleast1yearoffibersplicerexperience
- Needtobecomfortablewithclimbingheights
- Vocationalor Apprenticeshiptrainingpreferred.
- Readandinterpretworkorders,specifications,andengineeringdrawingsand/orcutsheetstodetermineworktobedoneinsequenceoftasks.
- Repairorspliceinnewlinesasneededtocompletethetestingandcertificationoftheproject.
- Installallpassiveandactivedevices,pedestals,andvaultsandfibersplicecasesrequiredtohouseCAT-Vequipmentpercustomerrequirements.
- Testfiberlinesforbalancedsignalbetweenpoints-continuityandfault.
- Readandunderstandsiteplans,maps,diagrams,designs,andprintsneededtosupportproject(s).
- Optimizenew Nodesandspliceinnodesplitstoreducecapacity.
- Abilitytosafelyutilizebuckettrucksorclimbutilitypolestoplacecablesonpolespersystemdesign.
- Completeproductionsheets,verifyproperlevelsafteractivation,andadjustandtroubleshootasnecessary.
- Ensurepropersafetytechniquesandincidentreportingproceduresarefollowed.
- Makeadjustmentsonswitches,relays,andotherelectricalcontroldevicesformaximumoperatingefficiency.
- Understandandadheretocompanysafetyprotocolsandpolicies
- Useandunderstandautomateddispatchequipment(i.e.,handheldterminals),andappropriatetestequipmenttoverifyproperinstallationand/orrepair
- The Fiber Optic Technicianwillfrequentlyworkincoldorhottemperaturesandatheightsover
15feet - The Fiber Optic Technicianwillalsoworknearpowerlinesandelectricity ,aswellasworkandtravelininclementweather
- DemonstrateknowledgeofOSHAsafetyguidelinesandpracticaluseoftheseguidelinesaswellasallotherapplicablesafetylawsandpolicies.
- Basictroubleshootingexperiencepreferred
- Technicalknowledgeofwirelesstelecommunicationsproductspreferred
- Willingnesstotakeonandlearnnewtasks,asneeded.
- Abilitytomulti-taskinademandingenvironment.
- Experienceintower-riggingpreferred
- Cableinstallation,termination,and testing
- Strong Construction&Fabrication,aplus
- Cultureof Safety&PPE
- Strong Mathematical Ability
- Basic Computer skills
