Are you ready to join our dynamic team of Facilities professionals where you can grow and develop your skills and career? UAA is seeking to fill two positions in our Electrical Shop for an Electrician as either CT2 or CT3 based on years of relatable experience.
In this role, you will perform a variety of maintenance and repair work such as changing lights and conducting electrical maintenance on the 50+ buildings on campus. We'll rely on you to conduct job assessments, create quotes and estimates, and research part replacements.

Minimum Qualifications:
A minimum of 10 to 15 years + of training and/or experience with Electrical Technician journeyman license in the construction, operation or maintenance of Electrical, Electronic, fire alarm systems or related industrial trades.
All positions require a High School Diploma or equivalent and a valid Alaska drivers license with a clean driving record, meeting University of Alaska safe driving standards. As part of the required University background check - UAA will obtain a driving history record from DMV to confirm candidates meet the UAA safe driving standards. Driver license info:

CT2 - Journeyman Electrician. Must meet CT1 requirements and have commercial or industrial experience. Must possess and submit a valid State of Alaska Certificate of Fitness Journeyman Electrician License or be able to attain within 60 days of hire. CT2:
Electrical Technician journeyman level with 10 years of experience. Candidates who qualify for an interview will complete a CT2 competency test. Preference for certifications in one or more of the following:
Preferred knowledge/experience/education/certification:
Siemens control training, building automation certification, fire alarm and electrical systems experience, refrigeration certification or training.
CT3
- Master Journeyman Electrician. Must meet CT2 requirements and have mastery level experience in commercial facilities. Must have a State of Alaska Journeyman's Electrician License. Preference for NICET fire systems certificate. Equivalent education and training in electronics or industrial electricity may be considered;
Electrical Technician master journeyman level with 15 years of experience. Candidates who qualify for an interview will complete a CT3 competency test.
Acquisition of other specialized licenses and training is highly preferred.
Preferred knowledge/experience/education/certification:
Siemens control training, building automation certification, fire alarm and electrical systems experience, refrigeration certification or training. Applicants should have a minimum of 175 hours of related education and/or training. Must possess an unrestricted Alaska driver's license.
Maintain all required licenses and/or certifications.
A valid driver's license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria is required for all positions.
Position Details:
This position is located on the UAA Main campus in Anchorage. This position is full-time, forty-hour work week, with overtime as required.
