is experience or training that has provided the candidate with the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts, accessories, and components, and to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications. Must be skilled in the use of hand tools and test equipment.

WG-12
- Must have a minimum of 18 months of experience or training installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting, and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification.

Experience coordinating the work of other mechanics, and scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow.

Must have the ability to instruct lower graded mechanics, military and other personnel in the disassembly and re-assembly of crash damaged engines, transmissions, gearboxes, hydraulic components, and fuel controls sufficient for the exhibit to be returned to its shipping container.

In addition to journey-level experience or training equivalent to or exceeding the WG-10 grade level, experience in performing duties as a dedicated crew chief.

Experience in performing, coordinating, and/or overseeing the work and any periodic inspections to be done on an aircraft whether it is alone, or with the assistance of other mechanics and/or workers.

Experience in coordinating the work of other journey-level workers in other trades to work simultaneously on the aircraft.

Experience serving as the technical authority to advise on, examine, and approve all airframe, mechanical, electrical, and pneudraulic repairs of assigned aircraft.

Resume must have complete dates and hours worked per week for each occurrence of both civilian and military employment (Example: 2 JAN 1980 to 3 MAR 1981;  M-F or JAN 1980 to MAR 1981; 40 hrs/wk) Use of year only will result in disqualification.

Your record of experience and/or training must show possession of the following knowledge, skills and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position:

• The Crew Chief occupies a significant role in military mission of the Air National Guard flying wing. Through extensive training and experience of the incumbent, the position is recognized as the technical expert and authority in ensuring that very complex military aircraft are prepared to carry out the day to day training mission, as well as the worldwide mobility mission as part of the Air Force and its Air Expeditionary Force (AEF) structure.
• The incumbent of the position understands the technical theory and operational characteristics, not only of the airframe, but of mission systems peculiar to the unit aircraft and assigned mission.
• The Crew Chief knows the theory and operation of aircraft systems to be able to troubleshoot malfunctions and problems, and determine the extent of repairs and involvement of others in expediting return to combat ready status.
• Skill and knowledge is required to resolve problems and devise solutions when aircraft are not at home station, or at a location where the full complement of support equipment, supplies, parts, tools, and maintenance personnel are available.
