This position is open to Alaska Residents only. Please check our residency definition to determine if you qualify. The Department of Family and Community Services, Office of Children s Services (OCS) is recruiting for full-time Community Care Licensing Specialist 3 located in Anchorage, Alaska. This position is currently undergoing review as part of an ongoing job class study and the title and pay range may change upon completion.
What You Will Be Doing
The Community Care Licensing Specialist 3 provides supervision and guidance to a professional staff of supervisors relating to the oversight of the foster care licensing program and related child welfare issues, personnel matters, and budget issues. The role includes oversight of staff and operations across multiple regions, requiring effective remote supervision and coordination. This position participates as a member of the Office of Children s Services (OCS), regional management teams, shaping policy and procedures.

Working Environment:
This position is located in the Anchorage regional office in midtown. Travel may be required quarterly and to outlying areas; some overnight stays may be required depending on division needs.
We Are Seeking a Candidate with the Following

Plans, distributes, coordinates, and monitors work assignments; evaluates performance and provides feedback; ensures staff are appropriately selected, utilized, and developed.
Special Note
- This position requires a valid Alaska driver s license.
- Division vehicles may not always be available; mileage reimbursement is provided when using a personal vehicle for work. Current automotive insurance is required prior to use of a personal vehicle for state business.
- A child protective history check will be performed per AS 12.62.160 and/or 13 AAC 68.315, including background and fingerprint checks.
- The successful candidate may be required to attend multiple training courses typically located in Anchorage.

Minimum QualificationsAny combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in:

Equivalent to those typically gained by: training or education in social services, education, health care, mental health, juvenile justice, or a closely related field; AND/OR progressively responsible professional experience in related areas; or supervising licensing and certification functions in related programs.
