Criminal Justice Technician

This position is assigned to the Statewide Search and Rescue (SAR) program and assists the SAR Coordinator with emergency management planning and exercise functions related to SAR functions, programs and organizations within and associated with the Department of Public Safety.

As a Criminal Justice 1 for the Statewide Search and Rescue (SAR) program, you will be part of a team of committed, like-minded individuals with focus, drive, and passion to support Alaskan communities.

The daily work environment consists of a small team of task‑driven individuals. Incumbent will work closely with team members to support the mission.

• Work references detailing employer name, job title, dates, and full‑ or part‑time status.

This position requires the incumbent to submit to a fingerprint‑based criminal history background check. Due to the sensitive nature of this position and required access to APSIN, an applicant with criminal convictions will not move forward in the selection process.

The successful candidate will be required to read, understand, and agree to a confidentiality agreement concerning the work commonly encountered within the Department of Public Safety to qualify for this position.
