The Alaska Court System is seeking dependable and organized individuals to serve as bailiffs—an important role that supports the court’s mission of delivering fair and efficient justice.
As a bailiff, you will escort jurors in and out of the courtroom before, during, and after trials and help maintain the integrity of the deliberation process by ensuring jurors are not contacted or influenced by outside parties. You will also coordinate meals, lodging, and transportation for jurors when necessary, and accompany them to meals while providing support for basic, personal errands as needed.

Schedule- Positions are on‑call and temporary, and may involve working multiple days in a row.
- Applicants may be called in for as little as 2 hours or up to 8 hours a day.
- There may be gaps of a week or two without a shift.
- Alternatively, applicants may be called back for consecutive‑day coverage.
- High‑school graduation or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate.
- Six months of responsible work experience that demonstrates the ability to deal tactfully with the public.
