This position is located in our Anchorage Alcohol Safety Action (ASAP) office in the Boney Courthouse.

What you will be doing:

In this position, you will provide clerical support and case preparation to adult probation officers for the alcohol safety action program for screening, monitoring, and client referral to behavioral health & social services providers.

Additionally, you will review and evaluate all incoming court paperwork and client files to determine what action should be taken when assisting the defendant in fulfilling court requirements. Contact in-state ASAP offices, Department of Motor Vehicles, and providers to ensure program completion. As well as assist in the monitoring of alcohol & drug testing for the ASAP/Therapeutic Court participants. This position requires working some weekends and holidays as needed.

The position is located at 303 K Street, Anchorage, Alaska 99501. Conveniently located in the Boney Courthouse in downtown Anchorage and within walking distance to Simon & Seaforts, Snow City Café, and the Coastal Trail.

Know and understand the laws, regulations, policies, and procedures that govern the work and be able to interpret and apply them consistently to ensure adherence to the program guidelines.

  Demonstrate a positive attitude, demonstrate courtesy, tact, and empathy, even when handling stressful or confrontational situations. Able to manage workloads, meet deadlines, and effectively identify and coordinate priorities.
• Office technology:
  Skill in using office technology such as computers, computer applications, and other office equipment to develop and communicate information in the appropriate format.

• A valid and current Alaskan driver's license is required at the time of appointment.
• Requires use of the Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN), which includes passing a background investigation, including fingerprinting.
• May be required to work some weekends and holidays as needed.
