Job Description and ResponsibilitiesThis is a full‑time, on‑site role as an SLPA serving a school located in Anchorage, AK. The SLPA will provide therapy services to students, conduct screeners, monitor progress, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (therapists, educators, parents). The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a passion for working with students with special needs.
Job Details- Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week
- August 2026 – May 2027
- PreK‑12 grades
- On‑site, in‑person
- Job duties:
direct therapy, consultation, planning, collaboration with SLP supervisor - Guaranteed hours, including documentation, administrative and planning time
- Dual support from the District and Thera Peds
- Manageable caseloads
- $35–$45+/hour
- Valid SLPA certification from an ASHA‑approved institution
- State license as a Speech‑Language Pathologist Assistant, where required
- Department of Education licensure as an SLPA, where required
- Experience working with children
- Experience in a school setting preferred, but not required
- Organizational and time‑management skills
- Proficiency in the use of technology
- Fingerprint background clearance
- Ability to collaborate with school staff and parents, exercising a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications
Employees must be able to perform the necessary physical movements, such as lifting, sitting, walking, standing, crawling, and engaging with students in all physical locations and activities, while adhering to the duties outlined by the district.
